Welcome to our second edition of the “Everyone can be in the Fabulous Lane” series. Continuing with our Blog from last week about internships and jobs for the summer, this week we are going to focus on those who are wired with a super-genius brain (not saying others are not smart) – the scientists.

For those who are majoring in Chemistry, you may want to check out the site Chemistry for Life. This site is a central location that provides a comprehensive list of different research opportunities around the country. Whether you are from Vermont or California, there is something for everyone!

For Neuroscience majors, check out the following two links where each offers many summer research opportunities from different institutions. Many of them are paid with housing and travel allowances. Spend some time browsing through which programs you are most interested. Deadlines are coming up fast and quick, so act now before it’s too late.

For Pre-med and Health students, Swarthmore College has a comprehensive list of summer programs. Closer to home, The Chester Summer Scholars Program in Cleveland would be a wonderful opportunity for Pre-med students to spend ten weeks over the summer in a clinical laboratory research settings at MetroHealth Medical Center.

There are plenty of options out there. So get ready, get set, and go! I am excited to hear the wonderful summer experiences you will all have when you come back on campus in the Fall.
